Queens of the Soil is an immersive stage experience that blends storytelling, poetry, narration, music, song, and dance to celebrate queens, warriors, mothers, healers, and artists who have shaped Africa’s history and identity. The production seeks to preserve cultural heritage while presenting timeless stories of resilience, leadership, and womanhood through contemporary theatrical expression.
Who Should Audition
This open call is for female performers only, including:
- Actors
- Singers
- Dancers
- Storytellers / Spoken-word artists
Both emerging and experienced performers are encouraged to attend. Passion, authenticity, and a connection to African storytelling are highly valued.

Auditions will be held at a professional theatre venue in Durban:

What to Prepare
Auditionees should come ready to perform. This may include:
- A short monologue, poem, or narration

Performers may be asked to demonstrate versatility and the ability to work within an ensemble.
